# Discrete Fall Décor Ideas
If you’re like most, you might not want to keep shuffling decorations in and out of your living spaces with the seasons.
When we think of fall, we tend to think of crunchy leaves, pumpkins, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. While those are staples of the season, they don’t have to be our only inspiration.
To make life easier, here are five pieces to inspire your fall décor that you could sneakily use year-round:
## Textured throw pillows
Having throw pillows both indoors and outdoors is an evergreen décor trend, but you can really spice it up by using unique textures. Opt for subtle and monochrome. Bright colors feel like spring and faux (or real) fur feels like winter, so find a happy medium that you can stretch to last multiple seasons.
## Old books
With everything so digital, it can be refreshing to see a stack of old books on your coffee table. Plus, nothing tells your guests how smart you are like a dusty old copy of *Catcher in the Rye*. You can easily repurpose your old books as features in your space, or if you have nothing cute on hand, visit a local bookstore for something cheap and fun.
## Incense burner
A nice gold or silver colored incense burner can be a smart addition to your living space. It is a small detail that can be hidden away or highlighted based on your preference. The burning of incense evokes a smoky, hearty vibe that is perfect for the fall, but you can easily swap your scents out for any season.
## Rich table settings
Deep, berry colors are great for the season, but can also carry you through to the spring. Consider timeless napkins in deep reds, royal purples, and emerald greens that can double as winter and spring holiday décor. If that’s too bold, monochrome is always a good option.
## Log-style items
Nothing feels like a crisp, cold autumn day like a bonfire. Items like wooden log holders or coasters can add a pop of the season into your space all through the colder months. Depending on how discrete they are, they could be an excellent evergreen setup in your home.
